On Humor

I have become increasingly interested in humor, laughter, joy, sarcasm, cynicism and all their derivatives. This has been a growing phenomenon as I have become more aware of humor as a means for effective communication and behavior or attitude change.

As I work in politics, I read a lot of news. Often after coming back home I started to watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, both of which take a satirical look at going on in the world, much like Have I Got News For You does in the UK. I found I trusted these comedians to analyze the news more so than their outspoken serious counterparts who I read in the papers.

I also observed that humor can act as a means to bring peoples guard down and in an entertaining fashion educate or communicate something which would otherwise not get through to the listener.

On this blog I will be writing some reviews or point to other items of interests.
